If you want action and battles

For a classic shonen experience, titles like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen are great entry points, with well-paced battles and an easy-to-follow growth story. Both are also split into clear seasons, which makes for natural stopping points if you're new to the format.

If you want a slower, more reflective story

If you'd rather skip flashy fights in favor of carefully drawn human drama, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a quiet, contemplative series with a strong sense of closure in nearly every episode — easy to pick up in small doses.

If you want something light and funny

For a low-pressure watch, comedy-driven titles like SPY x FAMILY are a great fit. The fast, character-driven humor makes it approachable even if you've never watched anime before.

If you like mysteries and puzzles

For mystery fans, long-running detective series like Detective Conan (Case Closed) are a safe bet — many episodes are self-contained, so you can jump in almost anywhere.
